Questions you should probably ask

Does it work offline?
Babel needs an internet connection for transcription and translation. We cache recent audio for up to 10 seconds so brief drops do not interrupt a turn.
Do I need two phones?
No. One phone is the whole setup — that is the point. Place it between you, or hand it back and forth.
How accurate is it?
Babel uses Eleven v3 Conversational and OpenAI for translation — best-in-class models. In testing, transcription accuracy is 95%+ for clearly spoken audio across major languages.
Which languages are supported?
We support 74 languages via Eleven v3 Conversational, from Afrikaans and Arabic to Welsh and Vietnamese. If you need a language we do not yet support, write to us — we add them in priority order.
Is my audio stored?
No. Audio is processed in the moment and discarded. Transcripts live on your device. You can choose to sync history, but that is opt-in.
Can I cancel anytime?
Yes. Subscriptions cancel in one tap. Remaining credits stay usable through the end of your billing period.
Do I need headphones?
No. Babel has a speaker mode that works for both people through the phone speaker. Headphones are a nice option for private translations.
